Bernard Garo and his exhibition “Lend Us the beauty” ““Lend Us the beauty”” at VFP

A self-taught multidisciplinary artist, Bernard Garo is displaying his work in Verbier during the winter of 2023/2024, amidst various collaborations including one with VFP. His works make an impact, both visually and through their message. The beauty of these pieces, whether they are photographs, paintings, or even films - the most recent of which have received international accolades- is striking. Born in Geneva and living between Beijing, Paris, and Nyon, it is a privilege to have such a personality for the winter exhibition in Verbier.

The theme of this exhibition, running from January to March 2024, is a series of photographs that were previously displayed last year at the Natural History Museum of the City of Geneva, titled “Lend Us the Beauty.” The thematic focus is on glaciers, which are emblematic and identity-defining features of the Valais region and Switzerland. The images speak for themselves, blending beauty, vulnerability, the impact of time, and the era in which we live. Without preaching, the artist enables us to approach a current issue with a human-centric view – addressing the subject of sustainability in an artistic manner and questioning our landscape, which is undeniably magnificent but also undergoing transformation.
